"Seoul Station" Tears Into The Korean "Train To Busan" Zombie Mythology

Seoul Station Animated Train to Busan Prequel Official poster
Traditionally, an animated extension of movie mythology tends to come off like a cash grab. Some straight to video, seemingly rushed media meant to appease the fandom of a license and perhaps keep the love alive until the next "serious" project is completed. It's not been long since American audiences were treated to the Korean zombie epic "Train to Busan" (aka Znakes on a Train) and the overwhelmingly positive chatter had just been quieting when we heard an animated prequel was on the way. Of course, we instantly though "cash grab". We'd be wrong.

The "Train to Busan" animated prequel "Seoul Station" is an hour and a half of gut wrenching zombie survival with a completely unprepared populace being overrun by sprinting, enraged, extra bitey zombies who appear to stop at nothing to sink their teeth into living flesh. In "Seoul Station" we are taken very close to the beginning of the zombie outbreak as the homeless are the first to be fed upon, a message not lost on a world audience in these troubling times. Since we've trained ourselves to ignore the homeless, the (zombie) problem is allowed to escalate at an alarming rate until it very literally comes back to bite a large section of the city in the ass.

McFarlane Creating Collectibles from the Star Trek Universe

McFarlane Toys has signed a toy license deal with CBS Consumer Products to create figures, role play weapons and accessories for the new Star Trek: Discovery television series. In addition, McFarlane Toys will also create merchandise from the entire Star Trek universe, ranging from the iconic classic television series Star Trek: The Original Series to the legendary films.

The initial line will highlight two of the most iconic characters in the Star Trek universe with articulated 7-inch figures of U.S.S. Enterprise Captain James T. Kirk from Star Trek: The Original Series and U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D Captain Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek: The Next Generation. These figures will debut in window box collector packaging and feature iconic accessories such as phasers and communicators. Various characters from the highly-anticipated Star Trek: Discovery television series and other adaptations will follow.

Dark Horse's Game of Thrones: The Hound

We continue our Dark Horse Game of Thrones figure photo series with an extremely complicated man who is first introduced as a remorseless villain, later appears to be a somewhat apathetic lackey and later still, evolves into a warrior with a dark past and more than respectable notions of honor. Sandor Clegane, also known as "The Hound", seemed to make his allegiances as a matter of survival and kept his distaste for those he served to himself. While most would dismiss him as capable of the same monstrous acts his brother (The Mountain) would enact on a whim or by command, it's become clear Sandor is more complex than any mere beast.

Black Lightning Trailer Goes LIVE!

Here's a DC Comics character you could mess up reaaaaally easily. Those of us who read Justice League comics for years growing up may only be familiar with the funky costume changes for one of DC's few stand out black super heroes, so setting up the TV mythology wouldn't be a huge bother...but if the topic isn't treated with the sensitivity and reality a man like this would face today, the project would be doomed to fail. Shows like Supergirl and The Flash tend to fixate on a sunnier DC Universe than their explosive, perpetually gloomy movie counter-Earth, or remain caught up in the drama of love found and lost, never addressing the issues people of color face today. We wondered how the CW might address this very real world in a post Luke Cage climate. This trailer might make you feel a bit better about it all.

Get Ready for a Scooby-Doo / Supernatural Crossover!!

No, this is not the Onion. The Onion would suggest the Supernatural gang is taking over Mystery Incorporated or some such in a bid to boost ratings for the flailing kid's cartoon enterprise and make it grittier for modern audiences... WHICH IS PROBABLY HAPPENING RIGHT NOW IN THE PAGES OF DC COMICS!!! I won't read that comic. You can't make me. What's NOT a joke is that we are getting an animated adventure in an upcoming episode of Supernatural's 13th season.

Netflix's GLOW Trailer is Everything You Want It To Be

Netflix's GLOW trailer

Oh man. Let me tell you..I was worried. I've seen Orange is the New Black and I like it, but i'm not so in love that I watched into season 2. Learning the masterminds behind that show are behind the wheel of a comedy series based on GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) told me it would be funny and fearless, and that raised my expectations to a level higher than my hopes for the new Spider-Man film!! So yea...that made me worried. Now the first trailer has come and i'm grinning from ear to ear. Dive in and see why.

The Damned Return to 40th Anniversary Tour + New Music Coming Soon

Less than a week after Captain Sensible fell offstage at their sold out show in Toronto, resulting in a broken rib, The Damned were forced to postpone three shows this past week, including Montreal, Boston and New York (dates are rescheduled for later this month). On Saturday night, the band made a triumphant return at a sold out Stone Pony in Asbury Park - sitting on a specially built 'throne' created by his band mates and crew, Captain appeared to be feeling no pain as he blasted through the 90 minute set (plus two encores), confirming that the 40th anniversary tour is definitely back on!

"As movement is a bit awkward currently, I played last night seated, but it all went swimmingly and this epic 40th Anniversary tour is now firmly back on the road. We've played some great venues on the trip... and Asbury Park's Stone Pony is up there with the best of 'em. But I have to say I wish I'd waited till here before backflipping off the stage, as this one was only 3 feet high. D'oh!”
-Captain Sensible.

Plasmatics - Live! Rod Swenson's Lost Tapes 1978-81 coming to DVD and VOD on May 19th. The rare Wendy O. Williams / Plasmatics live footage in this DVD has, in the main, never been released before.

During the early years Plasmatics creator Rod Swenson, who directed and shot all the Wendy O. / Plasmatics conceptual videos (AKA known for his footage of the Ramones, Dead Boys, Blondie and Motorhead among others) shot numerous Plasmatics shows, the footage from which was never edited or released. Except for some short excerpts most of it until the discovery of this footage was thought to be lost or degraded (shot on tape which has been shown as with audio tape to degrade over time).
